Today I’m reviewing a liquid lipstick by Tarte, in the shade ‘Front Row’. Off the bat, I love this product for its long-wearing ability, and it is my go-to when I know I won’t like to reapply my lipstick. I purchased this product on sale, in a bundle, during the holidays. On to the review!

My Experience with Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint Front Row:

My lips are definitely on the drier side, so I’m really picky when it comes to liquid lipsticks because a majority of them are super drying. I always use an exfoliating lip scrub before using liquid lipsticks. I use a little Vaseline or lip balm before lipstick application. I love this shade. It reminds me of a deep nude. It’s more of a neutral color, in my opinion – neither too bright nor too wild. It would flatter a wide range of skin tones.

The product has great, sturdy packaging, like most of Tarte’s products. Its cap is matte black and smooth. It’s a plastic tube with a screw off cap that has a doe foot applicator. The tube is strong, closes tightly and can be kept in a bag without any fear of spills or leaks. There’s 6 ml of formula in it and will last you forever if you’re not a daily-wearer.

For me, liquid lipsticks are worn better with a full makeup look, especially when they are super pigmented, so I only tend to wear it if I’m doing an eye look too. The lipstick dries super matte, so at first, I was afraid it would not be very comfortable. When I applied it, I noticed that the formula was thinner than I expected, but was well pigmented. It does not have any scent. It dries within seconds.

The consistency is nice. You can layer it without it creasing or flaking. I’d definitely recommend using a lip liner because without one it’s kind of hard to get the exact shape of your lips. Throughout the day my lips don’t feel stiff or rough like some products can make them feel. There is no stickiness or smudges.

The main attraction of this product is definitely its lasting power. I put this lipstick on in the afternoon before class and it held up so well through the day, and lunch, for about 6 or 7 hours. When it was time to remove it, I noticed how it would not budge with water no matter how hard I scrubbed. I had to actually use a makeup remover to take it off. But with one makeup wipe, it came off pretty clean.
