Most of us love liquid lipsticks and so do I. I became a great fan of NYX lip colours after trying their ‘Liquid Suede Matte’ line. The quality was awesome and the shades are gorgeous. After experimenting with their liquid suede line, I wanted to try out their Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Cream Lipstick range. Well, why not? Who doesn’t love that metallic glow on lips? My Experience with NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Lipstick Mauve Mist:

NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Lipstick range is a beautiful range of 12 metallic lip colours. All the shades look gorgeous and the colour selection is really nice. From subtle metallic nudes to bold metallic shades, this range is gorgeous. I wanted to try a metallic nude this time. Among the metallic nudes, ‘Bella’ & ‘Mauve Mist’ are two beautiful shades. If you want to try metallic nudes from NYX, you can surely go for one of these. Okay, now let’s get into the packaging details.

Packaging:
The packaging of this metallic lipstick is very much similar to other liquid lipsticks from NYX. The body of the lipstick tube is colour-coordinated but non-transparent, so you can get an idea of the shade inside by looking at the tube’s body.

One thing that I don’t like about non-transparent tubes is that you will never know how much product is left. The tube has a glossy black cap that sits properly in place. There will be no unwanted leakage of the product inside. The body of the lipstick has a metallic kind of finish which looks very attractive.

Now coming to the applicator, it is exactly similar to other liquid lipstick ranges from NYX. It is a perfect doe-foot shaped applicator that helps in precise application of the lipstick. I love the applicator very much and I feel it comes to good use during application. The shade name, product description and other details are given on the body of the tube. Overall, I love the packaging.

Shade:
The shade ‘Mauve Mist’ is a beautiful warm rose gold shade that has a metallic sheen to it. I was not quite sure about how much I would be able to pull off this particular shade, but when I tried it, I absolutely loved the finish. The metallic part of this lipstick makes it more interesting and edgy, but it is not too overpowering.

It has the right amount of metallic shimmer and never makes your makeup look over the top. The metallic shimmers are not quite visible, so you can easily wear it during the daytime. This lipstick looks perfect on my skin tone. I am sure it will look great on all other skin tones.

Pigmentation:
The colour goes opaque in one swipe. Pigmentation is good, and you can easily layer the product for a more intensified look. On my lips, only a single swipe was sufficient for complete coverage and I did not have to re-dip the brush. The lipstick has no scent and hence no issues for people who are not very fond of fragrance in lipsticks

Texture and Finish:
The shade ‘Mauve Mist’ is very easy to apply and goes super smooth on application. The application is even and it spreads nicely on the lips without any tugging or pulling. I prep my lips before applying liquid lipsticks. I followed the same procedure this time as well. After applying it, it takes a few minutes to settle into a beautiful metallic matte finish.

Keeping in mind that this is a metallic lip product, I expected the metallicness to be more intense. For people who want that intense metallic finish, it is good to know beforehand that this lipstick will not fulfil that. It feels quite comfortable on the lips and the formula is light-weight. The finish is not extremely matte though, which is good. It does not dry out my lips and the formulation is good.

One thing that I noticed about this product is that until it dries out and settles completely, you cannot rub your lips. Along with that, the more quantity you apply, the more time it takes to dry down completely. This lipstick is not completely transfer-proof and smudge-proof. So, you have to be careful after wearing this.

For people who have dry lips, it will highlight the fines lines of your lips. Exfoliation and prepping up your lips is mandatory. It is advisable to moisturise your lips with a lip balm to keep them hydrated and healthy looking.

Staying Power:
This lipstick stays on really well on my lips. It stayed for about 4-5 hours without any fading which I feel is quite long-staying. It can survive light meals. However, this lipstick will not be able to survive oily meals. Be careful because in that case the formula breaks down from the middle of your lips and glitter particles can spread everywhere on your face.

This is one of the most probable cons that you will experience with shimmery lip products. After the product fades away, it does not leave behind any residue and you will need the complete reapplication of the lipstick. This lipstick has no issues during removal. It comes off easily with any normal makeup remover.

Overall:
I feel this is a great range if you want to experiment with metallic lip colours. The colour selection is really great and you will find many options. Pigmentation is also super rich and intense, the texture is good and staying power is laudable as well. Plus this product is really affordable. The only con is that if you want that intense metallic finish, you can give this one a skip. But never mind, if you are on the lookout for unique but subtle metallic nudes or browns, I would definitely recommend you to try this colour.
