My Experience with NYX Lip Lingerie After Hours:

The lipstick comes in a transparent sleek tube with a shiny black cap. It had a plastic covering that could be torn off. It has a long wand with a doe-foot applicator. The applicator is slightly bent, and I think that allows the wand to hug the lips better. Overall, the packaging is good.

I had heard and read a lot about these lipsticks on the internet and on IMBB as well. I purchased this one as I felt it was a safe shade as swatches online can be a bit deceiving.

The shade is described as a warm brown nude. The description is apt and I would describe it as a milky chocolate brown shade. It is a true brown colour with warm undertones. This would go well with a brown monotone look or an edgy smokey eye look. This lipstick may wash you out if worn on its own. On me, it looks more like a cool-toned brown rather than warm-toned.

It claims to have Vitamin E for ensuring a comfortable wear on the lips. It also claims that it gives an ultra matte finish and full coverage. The texture is like a thick mousse, and because of its colour, it seemed like melted chocolate at first.

Coming to the application of this lipstick, prepping the lips by exfoliating is extremely important as it will otherwise cling to and enhance dry patches. A lip balm must also be used to ensure that the wear of the lipstick is comfortable. The liquid lipstick feels very smooth and glides easily on the lips. It does not have full coverage. I think for people with pigmented lips, the colour may not show up really well. Also, I felt the application was slightly patchy. I would not recommend layering this lipstick.

This lasts for a good 4-5 hours, after which it does fade, especially if you eat and drink. Overall, this was a satisfactory purchase, and I am excited to try out more shades.
