My experience with Makeup Revolution Rainbow Highlighter:

Packaging: The packaging is the most attractive part of this palette. In fact, it is the packaging itself that lured me to grab this palette. Similar to the shape of a rainbow, this palette has 5 majestic shades curated in the shape of a rainbow. This palette comes enclosed in a rectangular black coloured container that has an iridescent chrome effect border on its sides. The caption on the top is also written in a chrome style. It’s because of the chrome effect pattern that renders a very amazing glow to the packaging in real-life. The size of this product is really big at this price tag. It looks as big as a mini eye shadow palette. The whole colour spectrum is awesome and the shade options are so versatile.

The packaging is quite sleek and the container is covered by a transparent flip-cover with the brand name written on the top of the cover. The flip cover shuts tight in its place. Shade 1: This is a pinkish highlighter shade which has fine shimmers in it. My most favourite shade in this palette. It is intensely pigmented.
Shade 2: A yellowish highlighter shade that has silver undertones in it. It contains shimmers. Pigmentation is good but not like the other shades.

Shade 3: A greenish highlighter shade which looks quite silvery when applied. It contains shimmers as well. Decent pigmentation.
Shade 4: This is a pastel blue highlighter that contains shimmer and gives a pearly finish upon application. It gives a good colour payoff in one swipe.

Shade 5: A lilac toned highlighter shade with silver undertones in it. It looks really gorgeous. Best pigmentation.

Pigmentation: Like I mentioned previously, this highlighter is intensely pigmented. I did not expect the pigmentation to be bang on at such a bargain price. When I swatched them, I found all the shades were so easy to work with. Only a single swipe and you get that perfect iridescent finish. The shine it delivers is blinding to the eyes. It is perfect for creating party looks. However, I would not suggest using this highlighter on an everyday basis because, it is not meant to be so. Even though the shades are really fantastic, they are not wearable. Only when you find special occasions, you can undoubtedly use it. Honestly, other than this, there is no significant con that I can falter about this product. Moreover, this product bears no fragrance. So, sensitive noses will not have any issue handling it.

Texture: The texture of all the shades is very creamy and feels buttery soft on skin. It blends flawlessly and my skin looks so radiant after putting this on. It feels very comfortable on the skin. The highlighter contains very fine micro-particle sized shimmer pigments which are quite visible when applied in excess. Be careful during application otherwise, you will end up looking like a glitter factory.

You can use this highlighter in so many ways. Depending on the type of look you want to create or the type of skills you have, either use the highlighter shades individually or swirl the highlighter brush through all the shades to create a mixed kind of iridescent finish. When you apply the shades in a stripe of colour, the resultant effect is of a beautiful rainbow. However, in that case, you will find the sky-blue highlighter to have the most predominant effect. In a nutshell , as all the shades in this palette have silver undertones and are super glittery, your face will look silvery.

Now, I am describing how I used it. Since my favourite colour in this palette is the pink highlighter, so I used the pink one on the apples of my cheeks and the cupid bone. It gave such a pretty effect. The result was not overwhelmingly pink; rather it left a gorgeous glow which made my skin brighter. I was so happy with the finish.
To make this highlighter last long, use it over a setting powder. I had no issues layering this product over a setting powder. It does not create any mess or look cakey. Once this highlighter sets properly in place, it does not transfer much.

Staying Power: Lasting power of this product varies depending on your way of using it. If you are simply using it on bare face, it lasts for 3-4 hours. If applied over a primer or a setting powder, it lasts for about 6-7 hours. However, if you are sweating, the intensity of the glow slowly fades away. Make sure to use a setting spray after applying it especially during summers, otherwise your makeup will not last long.

Overall: I am completely in love with this magical product. I love everything about this with the only exception that is not wearable on everyday basis. But I don’t mind, when this product gets over, I will purchase it again just because it makes me feel ecstatic and gifts my skin that iridescent finish of a rainbow. If you are looking for that blinding glow on your skin, grab this product without giving a second thought.
