Most oils available in the market are super expensive and I was looking for a cheaper alternative as I have oily skin and I was not sure how an oil would work on my skin. My Experience with Makeup Revolution Baking Oil:

The product comes in a small transparent glass bottle with a rose gold and black glass dropper attached to it. The name of the product and a few details are printed around the bottle. The glass bottle gives it a luxurious feel, but however, is not convenient for traveling. I wrap it in loads of bubble wrapper when I carry it in my makeup bag. Considering the price, the packaging is classy, but carrying it can be an issue (suggestion – wrap it in loads of bubble wrapper if you have to take it somewhere).

The oil looks very pale yellow in color when in the bottle; however, when it is applied, it is colorless. The oil feels a little thick when you take drops in your hand, but once you start spreading, it spreads very evenly. It is not heavy at all, but 2-3 drops are enough for the whole face. My oily face needs a maximum of two drops. For dry skin, I think 3 drops will be good.

For makeup oils, I think we should start with lesser quantity and then use more if required. The oil has a very faint, sweet smell which I like. However, the smell does not linger for long. As I applied the oil on my base, it created a soft, smooth base. I have pores and this oil did not highlight them. It worked much like my regular primer. It did not brighten up the face or anything like that, but the foundation applied very smoothly over the oil.

My skin feels silky and smooth after I apply the oil. I often use MAC Studio Fix Powder and Foundation and it feels dry on my face, but when used over this oil, the dryness issue was sorted. It does not make my face oily or sweaty. The oil does not show any “baking effect” on its own, but it does not claim so either. It needs a setting powder to bake the makeup and make it matte. I never tried using it without a powder. When used with powder, it does make the makeup matte and long lasting.

I have also used it on my nails. It makes the nails look pink and smooth.
