We are just settling in and still don’t have our internet connection. Enough of my tantrums, let’s get into the business. Today, I am going to talk about an iconic product from YSL; it is their ‘Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain’ in the shade Rosewood Gang. Read on to find out whether this is a hit or a miss.

My Experience with YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain Rosewood Gang:

Packaging:

The packaging of YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain is very luxe and sophisticated. The lip stain comes in a frosted square tube with a golden cap which has the ‘YSL’ logo embedded in it. Though the tube is frosted we can easily spot the color from outside.

There is also a golden outer box with the product details and ingredient list. The shade name is present at the bottom of the box. The applicator of this lip stain is very unique and different – it looks like a flat spatula with an angle. The applicator is revolutionary and makes the application precise and to the point. Overall, the packaging is very nice and eye-catching.

Shade:
YSL offers quite an array of shades in this range. It has neutrals, pinks, reds, oranges and berries – there is a shade for everyone. I would say most of the colours are universally flattering, which is just awesome. ‘Rosewood Gang’ is a beautiful deep mauve rose shade. It is a stunning lip colour that will look nice on any skin tone. This is a perfect everyday shade that goes well with any makeup look.

Formula:
The formula of the lip stain is quite interesting. The consistency is quite watery yet it has a slip to it. That is: it feels silky upon application. Though the texture is watery it has maximum opacity and gives bang-on pigmentation on the lips. Usually, with lip stains, multiple coats are required for full coverage. But, with this one, a single coat is sufficient.

It applies well and spreads evenly on the lips. Though it is watery it dries down quite quickly to a velvet-matte finish. The applicator helps a lot in precise application of the stain, but because of its odd shape, it picks up very little product on the wand. Hence, a few dips are required to get full coverage. The lip color is super lightweight and feels very comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t cling to dry patches and doesn’t feel dry on the lips.

Wear Time:
The staying power is really good with this lip stain. It stays on for around 7 to 8 hours without the need to reapply. This lippie is almost transfer-proof. However, if you eat oily food, you will see a bit of fading. Even after the fading, the lip stain leaves a beautiful stain that looks cute.

The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover. This does not transfer or bleed and looks all the more gorgeous and smooth. What mores should I say! This is a winner and I really love it.
